There are very few actors in the Bolywood industry who are passionately and madly in love with films. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the rare actors who will do a movie even in any case and point if he thinks the movie needs to be made.
The trailer of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's "Manto" was released On Independence day. The movie is helmed by acclaimed actress-filmmaker Nandita Das.
Nawazuddin’s portrayal of Gaitonde in ‘Sacred Games’ have got rave reviews from both audience and critics. The entire movie he has done till date have garnered lots of appreciation and his dedication for movies have also not gone unnoticed. Here he gives us another reason to respect this actor.
Currently, ‘Manto’ is on the verge of release and the trailer already garnered lot of love. What is commendable is that Nawazuddin has charged Re 1 for the movie.
Nandita further talked about how good actors like Nawazuddin has always done that. She recalls similar support from actors like Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Ranvir Shorey, Divya Dutta and Javed Akhtar. She said, "Rishi Kapoor gave his nod in our first meeting. Paresh Rawal had worked with me in Firaaq (2008), I am truly grateful he did this role to perfection. As I have been on the other side [of the camera], I can say that good actors are hungry for good projects," added Nandita.
‘Manto’ traces the life of famous and controversial writer Saadat Hasan Manto. In this, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen playing the title character of Indo-Pakistani, Urdu author, writer Saadat Hasan Manto. The film also stars Rasika Dugal as Manto's wife and Tahir Raj Bhasin, Rishi Kapoor and Divya Dutta in key roles.
