India is known for a rich and unique culture because of the diversity, so the Churches in India have their unique style too. The history of Christianity in India goes back to 52 AD. As per the popular beliefs, St.Thomas was one of the apostles of Jesus who visited India and found the country to be interesting enough to introduce a new faith.
St. Thomas established a few Churches in Kerala himself to establish Christian places of worship. Then the colonization happened by the Dutch, Portuguese, French and Britishers, this was the significant era for building many more churches eventually. Since the history goes back to the foreigners thus, the architecture of churches in India is a unique blend of foreign influences and Indian style.

1. St. Aloysious Chapel, Mangalore (Karnataka)
Located in the campus of St Aloysius College, this is a chapel is filled with beautiful wall paintings. This goes back to more than hundred years of history and surely one of the pride spots of Mangalore.
2. Santa Cruz Cathedral – Kochi, Kerala

Built in the Indo-Gothis style, this is first Episcopal Cathedral Church in Asia. The building stands along with the Victoria Memorial, Rabindra Sadan theatre complex, and the Birla Planetarium.
6. St Francis Church – Kochi, Kerala
This church was built around 500 years back and it had still survived. Built in European style architecture, the Portuguese traveller, Vasco da Gama was buried in this church.
7. Medak Cathedral – Medak, Telangana
Designed in the Gothic revival style, the Church is adorned with six different coloured mosaic tiles. This is a sound-proof Church as it is built with hollow sponge material designed by Sir O. Salisbury from England.
8. All Saints Cathedral – Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh
Being one of the oldest churches built in ancient India, this is also known as ‘Patthar Girja’. Built in 1887 by British, it is modelled after 13th-century Gothic style churches. It is built by the British architect, Sir William Emerson who is also known for building the Victoria Memorial of Kolkata. This church is a unique blend of beauty and different styles.
