Director Abhishek Varman’s big project has come to a sudden halt due to the heavy rains. The sets of the movie have collapsed due to the heavy rain in Mumbai. The third schedule of this film has stopped due to rain.
The set got damaged in the Mumbai’s Chitrakoot Grounds and then eventually collapsed on July 25 because of which the team had to stop shooting. Certain parts of the film were already shot before this accident but now the shooting won’t resume before 15 days.
A source close to the film revealed to a leading daily,
“The team was to shoot a 20-day schedule starting July 31. Now, the shoot is postponed for at least two weeks as dates for all the cast members who have scenes together had to be reworked. The makers have decided to wait for the rains to let up before resuming shoot,”
Three production Dharma Productions, Nadiadwala Grandson and Fox Star Studios houses collaborated for Kalank. While shooting for the second schedule of the movie both Alia and Varun got injured. Aditya Roy Kapur also got injured while shooting an action sequence.
This movie is a period film and has a big budget; the first set of the film costs Rs 15 crore. The film revolves around the 1940s and is set against the backdrop of the partition of India.
This film was the dream of Yash Johar and after 15 years now Karan Johar is making it. The movie is set to release on April 19, 2019.
