Ahead the England test series, team management of India announced on Monday that India’s warm-up match before the crucial series was cut down from four-day to the three-day game.
The reason why Team India is disappointed is that warm-up match, which India will play against Essex, was initially scheduled to be played from Wednesday to Saturday. However, now, the match will be played only from Wednesday to Friday as the management thinks the Indian team should reach Birmingham early and train for the opening Test.
However, according to media reports, the Indian team is unhappy with this sudden decision and they still think they need one extra day for the training before the match.
Earlier, Indian captain Kohli said that "it doesn't matter if he doesn't score runs as long as India wins" however, Anderson gave a befitting reply to him and said that that the Indian captain is lying if he stated his individual form won't be a factor in the upcoming five-Test series starting August 1st. "It doesn't matter if he gets runs or not? I think he is telling lies there," Anderson said in jest when asked about Kohli's statement during an exclusive chat with PTI.
"For India to win here, of course, it matters. Virat will be desperate to score runs for his team, as you would expect from the captain and one of the best players in the world," Anderson said. The 35-year-old pacer has an outstanding record against Kohli, having dismissed him four times in six innings during the 2014 tour.
