Summers can be very challenging for our body and skin both. Our skin demands equal attention to other parts of our body do. Skin is the most sensitive part of the body and therefore it requires most of your time. Our skin is open to many diseases and allergies in the summertime.
A small breakout on the skin can be very irritating in summers. In our busy lives we tend to ignore the small demands of our skin. As the temperature rises, the heat becomes unbearable and our skin becomes the prey to the scorching heat of the sun.
Let’s look at the hints that our skin gives us in summers.
1. Dehydration
Our body loses a lot of water in the form of sweat in summers and becomes dehydrated. Dehydration leads to cracked lips and dry patches on the skin. One should keep drinking water every half an hour and keep the body hydrated. Our diet should include a lot of citrus fruits and juices.
2. Acne
Extreme exposure to sun and dirt can result in pimples and acne. Sweat acts as a magnet to dust and dirt which leads to the blockage of the skin pores. To avoid acne one should clean our skin regularly. Don’t forget to carry a face wash when you travel. Apply face packs or multani mitti to sooth your skin.
3. Sunburns
The scorching sun can burn your sensitive skin. This could be seen in the form of red patches. Sunburns can be avoided by minimizing the exposure to the sun. Do not forget to apply your sunscreen 15 mins before leaving your house. Try to cover your skin as much as possible. You can also apply Aloe Vera gel on the affected skin.
4. Tanning
Skin darkening is caused by the sun’s constant exposure. Sunscreen of SPF 30 should be applied at regular intervals. To avoid dark circles, wear sunglasses while under the sun.
5. Bacterial infection
The increased temperature results in the increased skin infections. These infections can be because of the dirt around you. Avoid touching your face as it transfers the bacteria from your hand to your face. Avoid traveling to unhygienic places and avoid using pools that are not properly disinfected. Wash your hands and face many times a day.
One must try our level best to keep our skin hydrated in summers. This is possible if we keep ourselves away from direct exposure to the sun. Drink a lot of water and keep your skin happy and glowing.
