When it comes to following Metro rules there are very few among us who pay heed to these rules forget about following these rules. The hectic office hours with no seat in the metros makes our day more tiring and frantic and there are times when we are so exhausted that we tend to sit on the metro floors because getting a seat in the metro is a rare chance and when it comes to peak hours this rare chance becomes more rare. I am not justifying the sitting on metro floor and even you should also not take this nimbler because Delhi Metro is really serious about this.
Delhi Metro fined about 22000 commuters to be precise as many as 22,699 commuters were booked for sitting on the floor of trains till August this year, also making it the most broken rule in Delhi Metro. This however made the commuters furled as they complained the offence of sitting on the floor of the trains does not really make sense for those travelling long distances in packed coaches, especially during peak hours.
Commuters were also fined for other offences which included illegitimately entering women coaches and spitting inside stations and trains. Between January and August this year, 2,278 male commuters were caught travelling in women’s coaches and 604 were booked for spitting.
